Benelli 502C cruiser India launch confirmed for 2019
At the launch of the Benelli TRK 502 range, the company confirmed to IAB that it will introduce the 502C in India in 2019. The Benelli 502C is an urban cruiser from the Chinese-owned Italian bike maker and will be based on the Leoncino 500 platform.
The Benelli 502C uses a steel trellis frame that houses the parallel twin-cylinder motor, while the rear gears a separate sub-frame. The overall looks are inspired by the Ducati Diavel; however, the motorcycle features the signature Benelli design elements.
Up front, the Benelli 502C naked urban cruiser features sharp LED headlight, followed by a long and muscular fuel tank, while the motorcycle features an integrated single-piece seat. The urban cruiser design is enhanced by the ultrawide handlebar.
In typical Diavel fashion, the split-LED taillights are mounted on either end of the tail, while the rear tyre hugger houses the turn indicators and the number plate housing. Power is sourced from a 499.5cc twin-cylinder motor that pumps out 47 bhp of power and 45 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a six-speed transmission.
The naked urban cruiser gets supremely comfortable ergonomics with a long and wide handlebar and forward-set footpegs. The 17-inch alloys and road-biased tyres are sourced from free Leoncino 500 as well. Braking power is provided by dual 260mm front petal discs and a single 240mm rotor at the back, while dual-channel ABS will be standard.

The 41 mm front USD forks, with 125 mm travel, should offer remarkable stability, while the adjustable rear mono-shock offers 50 mm of wheel travel. The motorcycle has a 21 litres fuel tank capacity. As far as pricing is concerned, the Benelli 502C is likely to come in at around INR 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
