Autocar reports that the Benelli Imperiale 400 is scheduled for launch in the country in mid-2018.

The Imperiale 400 is an ideal competitor to the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.

As per the media site, the company will assemble the upcoming motorcycle locally. The ARAI certification process is slated to start by March 2018. Benelli is reportedly bullish about the Imperiale and expects it to be the best selling product. According to the website, if the bike satisfies the company’s sales expectations, they will consider producing it locally.

The Benelli Imperiale 400 made its debut at the 2017 EICMA show held in Milan, Italy. The bike uses a 373.5cc single cylinder SOHC engine with air cooling and fuel injection. It generates 19 PS of power at 5,500 rpm, and 28 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The Euro 4 engine works in tandem with a 5-speed transmission. Its nearest rivals, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 and the Classic 350 produce similar power output with a 27.5cc smaller, carburetted engine.

The twin pod analogue instrument cluster comes with a digital inset. The fuel tank can hold 12 litres of juice, and the motorcycle weighs 200 kg, kerb.
