Benelli Imperiale 400 (Royal Enfield Classic 350 rival) launched at INR 1.69 lakh

Benelli India has announced the launch of the new Imperiale 400 in the Indian market at an ex-showroom (India) price tag of INR 1.69 lakh. The newly launched motorcycle will directly rival the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Jawa motorcycles.

The bookings for the motorcycle are open, and potential buyers can reserve a unit of the Imperiale 400 for a token amount of INR 4,000 via the company’s website or by visiting a Benelli India Dealership. The Benelli Imperiale 400 is available in three colour options - Red, Silver and Black.

Benelli India is offering a 'three-Year/Unlimited Kilometre Warranty as Standard' on the Imperiale 400. Apart from this warranty, the Imperiale 400 also benefits from complimentary service for the first two-years. Benelli India has introduced an Annual Maintenance Contract for the Imperiale 400 to offer hassle-free customer experience. The Annual Maintenance Contract can be availed after the completion of the first two-years.

In terms of performance, the Imperiale 400 features a BS-IV compliant 373.5 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC engine with electronic fuel injection that pumps out a maximum power of 21 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 29 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The BS-VI compliant model should arrive in early 2019.

The Imperiale 400 is built around a double-cradle frame. The motorcycle uses 41 mm telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable dual rear suspension to perform the shock absorption tasks. Retro styling cues include round front headlight and teardrop fuel tank.

Anchoring department comprises a 300 mm disc at the front with a two-piston floating calliper and a 240 mm disc with single-piston calliper at the back. The braking setup is governed by a dual-channel ABS. The 19-inch front /18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels are wrapped in 110/90 and 130/80 section tubed tyres respectively.
