Going by the images, two different taillight configurations are being tried out for the Bugatti Chiron.

The Chiron, as reported earlier, is based on the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, or Vision GT, concept that made its debut at the recently concluded IAA 2015. The concept pays tribute to Bugatti's racing heydays in the early part of the 20th century at Le Mans. Though the concept displayed race-spec embellishments in the form of a rear wing and front and side skirts, the spied mule loses most of these parts.

Seen more as an evolution from popular Veyron, the Chiron has the characteristic Bugatti grille flanked by LED headlamps and a strong character line around the doors, visible despite the camouflage. The spied test mule runs on wheels that are visually similar to the one showcased in the concept.

The Veyron successor is suggested to be powered by a similar, but heavily retuned, 8.0-liter W16 engine, paired to an electric motor, to produce about 1,500 hp.

As for the rear, the mule sports a toned down dual parallel strips of dummy LED lights, positioned under what looks like an active rear wing. Dual quadrangular exhausts are situated towards the centre line, around which is a two-step diffuser as well.
