Videos - Front wheel drive BMW 2 Series Active Tourer MPV detailed

Ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, BMW have released these videos detailing their new offering which has enthusiasts weeping.

Built on the same UKL architecture used by the new Mini, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is a front wheel drive compact MPV set to challenge the likes of the Mercedes B Class and the VW Golf Sportsvan. At 4.34 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width and 1.55 meters in height, the Active Tourer with its flexible fold-flat seats gets 468 liters of boot space (can be expanded to 1,510 liters).

Powering the car is a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine which is capable of producing 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque. The same engine debuted on the new Mini, and promises European customers a fuel efficiency of 20.4 km/l.

On higher variants of the Active Tourer, BMW offers four-cylinder, 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor outputs 231 hp and 350 Nm of torque, while the diesel produces 150 hp and 330 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard on all variants.
