BMW Concept X7 iPerformance showcased at IAA 2017 [Gallery Update]
BMW has displayed its luxury SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), the BMW Concept X7 iPerformance, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Here are the concept SAV’s live images from the show.
The vehicle’s vertical proportions, chrome line along the windows, and the 23-inch alloy wheels give it a fashionable, flashy feel. The BMW laser headlamps flank the large kidney grille. The headlights feature a blue X signature as well. Vertical aero-lips differentiate rear of the car from the flanks. A chrome strip bridges the tail lights, and the underguard is body-coloured.

When it comes to the interior, the SAV gets six leather seats arranged in three rows, and four of them have an exclusive individual design. The large panoramic roof gives the interior an airy feel. The laser light in the ceiling and the dynamic ambient and contour lighting make the cabin lively. The instrument panel, centre console and doors are designed in a way to ‘wrap around’ the driver. The 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen and central touchscreen information display are set at close quarters to one another. The vehicle is equipped with iDrive, BMW connected and touch gesture for infotainment and navigation.

And content can even be shared with others on board. For instance, occupants can send a track to the car’s music system by touch gesture; or forward an interesting article to the next-door display for the person sitting alongside them to read. Interactive LED choreography via the doors and instrument panel traces the communication flow between the rear screens and the display at the front of the cabin.
The BMW Concept X7 iPerformance employs a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The BMW eDrive technology is allied with a BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine. The vehicle gets a special black-and-white version of the BMW logo, with a badge that says “Bayerische Motoren Werke”. It will be featured in all of BMW’s elite models.
BMW has confirmed that it will roll out the X7 from its Spartanburg plant next year.
