BMW G 310 R & BMW G 310 GS at 2017 Thai Motor Expo - Live
BMW Motorrad has its entry-level naked and adventure motorcycles- the BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS on display at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo. Here are the live images of the bikes from the show.
BMW G 310 R:
The BMW G 310 R carries the S 1000 R’s genes, thanks to the sporty headlight fairing, muscular tank extension, and roadster proportions. The motorcycle costs THB 199,000 and comes in three colour variants. The bike employs a 313 cc single cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. It puts out 34 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission. The motorcycle uses a steel frame with the engine as the stressed member.
When it comes to suspension, the naked motorcycle employs 41 mm upside down forks at the front and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. The bike features a 300 mm front disc with a 4-piston radial caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with single piston floating caliper. BMW Motorrad ABS links both the brakes.
BMW G 310 GS:
The BMW G 310 GS is the smallest and most affordable motorcycle in the GS family. In Thailand, the bike costs THB 219,000. The bike follows BMW GS’ design philosophy, complete with the front beak, long-travel suspension and muscular tank extensions for rugged appeal. TVS makes the BMW G 310 GS at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu and exports it worldwide.
The powertrain is the same unit that drives the G 310 R. The torque and power figures are the same, as well. Coming to the cycle parts, the motorcycle comes with 41 mm upside-down front forks with gold anodised finish. The rear gets a monoshock with adjustable preload. The front and rear suspension offer 180 mm of travel. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. Brakes include a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with switchable ABS.
