BMW G310 'Rock' by DK Design could easily fit in the Mad Max franchise

Previously, we had brought you the G310 Rogue by DK Design inspired by yesteryear BMW Motorrad products, the R100 and the R50. Another creation just as extreme is the modified BMW G310 Rock which looks like it could figure in the sets of the Mad Max franchise (if they were looking for one).

The G310 Rock by DK Design is based on BMW Motorrad's entry-level motorcycle, the G310 R. The motorcycle gets a massive makeover with some upgrades that add a bit of off-roading character to the machine.

The first thing you would notice is how off-road ready this motorcycle looks with the knobby tyres, a metal bash plate and knuckle guards. Upfront, the bike gets a tall set fender that further enhances the off-roading character while the new headlight brings some retro charm to the overall package. Above the light is a custom plate used for the registration number. We won’t, however, expect any windblast protection from the unit.

Steering duties are performed by an aftermarket handlebar that also features knuckle guards to save levers and fingers from flying debris. Meanwhile, the liquid-cooled radiator gets some protection from various elements with the aftermarket guard. Custom-built crash guards further enhance the safety of various body panels. The aforementioned bash plate makes sure no flying debris impact the engine.

The saddle gets an upgrade too with a tan-leather cover featuring a ribbed design. Other hardware updates include a premium Öhlins rear monoshock and a Yoshimura freeflow exhaust.

There is no mention of mechanical upgrades to the G310 Rock. Thus we assume that the motorcycle continues to draw 34 hp of power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm from the 313 cc water-cooled single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. There are no visible changes to the braking hardware and a 300 mm single disc still performs the duties with 4-piston fixed caliper up front and 240mm single disc single-piston floating caliper at the rear.

The motorcycle retains its full-digital instrument console, although it has been slightly repositioned from its original location sitting directly on the fuel tank.

The stock instrument console has been retained although its new position on the fuel tank gives the motorcycle a more appealing look.

Curious minds would question the reason for the modifications and would suggest buying the G310 GS instead. However, this modification took place at a time when G310 GS was only available in spy photographs.
