India-bound BMW G310R - 2016 Bangkok Live

The BMW G310R is being showcased at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show (2016 BIMS). The model made its world premiere at the 2015 EICMA in Milan and debut in the country at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo.

The BMW G310R is the first sub-500 cc motorcycle developed by BMW Motorrad. It was developed in Munich and will be manufactured in India by the firm's cooperation partner TVS Motor Company. The G310R will be produced in South India for local supply as well for all international markets. This is the first of many upcoming products by BMW-TVS association.

The BMW G310R is powered by an all-new backward-tilted 313 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and DOHC, mated to a six-speed transmission. The motor produces 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The motorcycle is based on a new tubular steel chassis suspended by an Up-Side Down fork and a monoshock on an aluminium swingarm. It weighs 158.5 kg and gets a 300 mm disc brake at front with four-piston radially-mounted caliper and 240 mm disc brake at the rear with two-piston floating caliper.
