X6M and X5M confirmed for launch.

BMW India will launch a total of 15 products in India this year, but four among the 15 will be all-new models (models which have no predecessors in the market), Mr. Philipp von Sahr, president of BMW India, told the PTI. Further, the official confirmed these four products will be imported and not assembled in India.

The X5M and the X6M are powered by a 4.4-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine.

Two among the four are the new BMW X5M and the X6M, which will further bolster BMW's M range of high-performance products in the country. The X5M and the X6M were unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November last year, and are powered by the 4.4-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine which also does duty on the M5.

The performance SUVs will rival the likes of the Mercedes GL63 AMG, the Range Rover Sport and the Porsche Cayenne. They accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit a top-speed of 250 km/h.

The BMW X4 could be offered as a rival to the Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan in India.

Other BMW products which are sold globally, but unavailable in India are the M135i, the 2 Series coupe and convertible, the 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer, the 4 Series, the X4 and the i3 electric car. While the i3 was showcased in India this year, BMW ruled out a launch in 2015, but said it was evaluating the product for the country nevertheless.
