The BMW M2 Competition looks a lot like the M2 Coupe but features several performance-focussed changes that work together to make the car look a lot sharper. The front-end, for instance, features a new bumper with bigger air vents that channel the flow of the fresh air to the car's enlarged cooling system. The highlights of the side profile include M-spec ORVMs and 19-inch forged alloy wheels. The rear features a quad tailpipe arrangement and an M Competition insignia. The interior gets several M logos, M Sport performance seats and a red engine start/stop button.
The biggest highlight, however, is under the hood. The BMW M3 Competition features a new engine that is based on the power unit from the M3 and M4. The twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six delivers 410 hp between 5,250 and 7,000 rpm, and 550 Nm between 2,350 and 5,200 rpm. The high-strung motor comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters. The driver can choose from three driving modes as per the usage conditions - Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
As per the manufacturer, the M2 Competition can accelerate from nought to 10 km/h in 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Opting for the M Driver's Package increases the top speed to 280 km/h.

Another talking point of the BMW M2 Competition is the CFRP high-precision strut from the BMW M3 and M4. The ultra-lightweight component is made from carbon fibre and weighs just 1.5 kg. Along with a bulkhead strut from the M4, it enhances the front section rigidity, which, in turn, improves steering precision.
