IAB Report - BMW M5 facelift previewed at Chennai track event, launch in November

BMW is expected to announce an updated version of their supersaloon, the BMW M5, for the Indian market by the end of year. Luckily however, one of our readers spotted the yet-to-be-announced vehicle at the BMW Experience event held in Chennai at the Madras Motor Sports Track last week.

The updates are part of BMW's Life Cycle Impulse that shares new features introduced in the facelifted 5 Series. For starters, BMW has slightly re-designed the headlamps that houses an Adaptive LED system. Other notable changes include a new front grille, new front and rear bumpers, and LED taillamps.

Inside, BMW hasn't fettled with the design. However, it now comes fitted with a new Bang and Olufsen audio system, though we are not sure if it'll make it in the final spec list.

Other than that, the car features the same 4.4-litre, V8 DOHC engine with Double-VANOS variable valve timing and equipped with two turbochargers. Maximum power output is rated at 560 hp @ 6,000 rpm while the peak torque is 678 Nm at a very low 1,500 rpm.
