BMW Motorrad hints at BMW G310 GS' world premiere at EICMA 2016
EICMA 2016 to stage world premiere of four BMW Motorrad models.
BMW Motorrad has announced that four models will have their world premiere at EICMA 2016 motorcycle show to be held from 8 to 13 November. Two of the future models will come from the GS range of adventure motorcycles, and we believe that one of these is the BMW G310 GS (name TBC).
The BMW G310 GS will be the dual-sport equivalent of the BMW G 310 R. The G310 GS's existence is no mystery, as production-ready units have already been spotted multiple times this month.
The entry-level GS looks like a mini BMW R 1200 GS, but shares several elements with the BMW G 310 R on which it is based.
The BMW G310 GS will be powered by the G 310 R's 313 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The fuel-injected engine, which produces 34 hp and 28 Nm of torque in the latter, will be paired to a 6-speed transmission. ABS will be standard.

As designed for off-road purpose, the BMW G310 GS will have a different suspension setup and a few other mechanical changes from the G 310 R to handle rougher terrain.
BMW Motorrad plans to make India a global hub for its small models. That, added with the fact that the motorcycle is based on the locally-manufactured BMW G 310 R, gives credence to the possibility that the BMW G310 GS will be made by TVS Motor Company in Tamil Nadu, India.
