Would be joined by the X6M as well.
Ahead of its Indian launch which will take place in the coming weeks, the BMW X5M was snapped inside and out by Shifting Gears. BMW India is looking to extend its M range of performance offerings with the X5M and the X6M, while the launch of the standard X6 in its second generation avatar is confirmed for July 23, 2015.
Both performance SUVs are powered by the 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine which is capable of 575 hp between 6,000-6,500 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 2,200-5,000 rpm. This is put through the wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, taking the X5M from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and onwards to an electronically limited top-speed of 250 km/h.
Visually, it gets M-sport front and rear bumpers with aggressive inlets, side inlets with the M-branding, side skirts and 20-inch alloys. Inside, aside from the Red interior, the M-sport gearlever and the M-sport steering wheel are clearly seen in these spyshots.

While the X5 is assembled in India at BMW India's Chennai plant, with up to 50 percent of the parts localized, the X5M and the X6M will be imported through the CBU route. The X5M will challenge the likes of the Mercedes GL63 AMG, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the 5.0-liter V8-engined Range Rover Sport.
