Model to launch here is the Octavia vRS 230.

Drivespark reports that Skoda dealerships are now accepting bookings for the Skoda Octavia vRS in India, further affirming its return to India in its latest avatar. The Octavia vRS is reported to launch by the end of June and will be sold as a CBU in limited numbers, similar to the VW GTI in India. It could be priced around INR 30 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Octavia vRS will be based on the facelifted Octavia, for which bookings are also reportedly open. It features a new LED-powered quad-headlight setup, wider radiator grille, large air inlets with honeycomb mesh, restyled bumper with sleeker horizontal fog lamps, sportier rear bumper with new shape light reflectors, tail lamps with the signature C-shaped cluster, dual exhaust pipes, rear wing, and 18-inch alloy wheels with red-painted brake callipers.

The model sold internationally has the ride height reduced by 15 mm with a ground clearance of 128 mm, but we're unsure if Skoda India will specifically raise the clearance to better suit Indian road conditions. Inside, the Octavia vRS could have an all-black interior with sportier vRS seats, red contrast stitching and it may come equipped with the all new 9.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with Columbus navigation.

Under the hood is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 169 kW (226.54 hp) and 350 Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed DSG. Expect the Octavia vRS to average a fuel mileage of around 12 km/L.
