The Avenir pays homage to historic Buicks with some of its design characteristics.

On the outside, the four seater looks curvaceous and sporty. It has a long bonnet, short overhangs, sloping rear deck and muscular haunches; all design elements that pay homage to Buicks of yore. The face features a huge vertical slat chrome grille, the sides get 21-inch wheels and the posterior comes with sleek lights and twin exhausts.

The interior of the Avenir is inspired by nature and sea waves receding on the beach. This motif is seen on the seats and other trim components, including the carpet that has a patterned insert bearing the motif in silk and bamboo. The sense of space is enhanced by the floating center console while light colors along with oiled and buffed wood trims and Galvano satin-chrome accents, increase its appeal.

The Avenir can recognize the user's preference and adjust the gauge cluster and infotainment screen display accordingly. Speaking of infotainment systems, the concept carries a 12-inch diagonal color touchscreen running Buick's next-gen IntelliLink system. The rear seat passengers get USB ports and video screens allowing them access to their favorite media on the go.

The concept gets its drive from a direct injected V6 engine that is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. The powerplant is also equipped with fuel saving technologies like cylinder deactivation and stop/start.
