Production ready CFMoto 300SR spied for the first time

The cat is finally out of the bag. Spy shots of CFMoto’s upcoming fully-faired sports motorcycle have come up for the first time. This model was showcased first as the CFMoto 250SR concept, in May 2019. Regular readers will remember that CFMoto will be launching its production version with a bigger, more powerful powerplant, and name it CFMoto 300SR. This model has been confirmed to be launched in India by mid-2020 (May-August 2020).

The CFMoto 300SR will carry dual LED headlamps and radially mounted front brake calliper sourced from J.Juan.

The spy images have revealed a reworked front nose from the race track-based concept. The LED headlamp is surrounded by a C-shaped LED daytime running lights. Gone is the Akrapovic-sourced exhaust canister from the concept and in is an underbelly exhaust. This will not only help reduce costs but also make the bike road-legal. The racing cowl from the concept has been replaced with a pillion seat in the CFMoto 300SR. The sharp pseudo air ducts next to the pillion seats are reminiscent of the Yamaha R15 v3.0.

The premium Brembo sourced brakes in the front have been replaced with a radially mounted calliper sourced from J.Juan. J.Juan is a Spanish motorcycle parts manufacturer and has been a supplier for the Mahindra Mojo (non-ABS version). The test unit of the CFMoto 300SR is suspended over upside-down fork up front and a monoshock in the rear.

The CFMoto 300SR gets clip-on handlebar for a sporty ride and the instrumentation console will be a phablet like all-coloured unit. The latter will possibly be shared with the CFMoto 300NK which was launched in India earlier this month for INR 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In all probability, the 292.4 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC powerplant will be shared with the 300NK. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine can produce 33.9 PS of power and 20.5 Nm of torque. The CFMoto 300SR will possibly also get riding modes as seen in the naked variant.

The Akrapovic exhaust has been replaced with a road-friendly underbelly setup.

Looking at the almost-ready state of the test unit, it would be fair to say that the CFMoto 300SR is near-production ready. Expect the bike to make an appearance at EICMA 2019 in November. Back at home, AMW Motorcycles has announced that they will begin accepting bookings of CFMoto products in India from 5 August 2019.
