Cadillac CT6 - Auto China 2016

First Cadillac to be made at the SAIC-GM' JV's Shanghai plant.

The Cadillac CT6, seen in these images from Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show), was launched in China in January with prices ranging from 4,39,900 to 8,18,800 yuan (INR 44,95,251.07 to 83,67,155.21). The CT6 is the first model to be manufactured at the SAIC-GM joint venture's new Cadillac plant in Shanghai in China.

The Cadillac CT6 is based on GM's new Omega rear-wheel drive platform which incorporates the Detroit-based automaker's patented technologies as well as 11 different materials. 57% of the structure is made of aluminum to provide stiffness while keeping the weight in check. The CT6 measures 5,179 mm in length, 1,879 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,109 mm.

In China, the Cadillac CT6 is available in eight grades and with two engine options: 2.0T LTG and 3.0TT LGW. The 2.0 LTG is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline unit producing 203 kW (272.12 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. The 3.0TT LGW is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline unit good for 298 kW (399.46 hp) and 543 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to the company's new Hydra-Matic 8L45 paddle-shift 8-speed automatic transmission.

Noteworthy features of the Cadillac CT6 include adaptive LED headlamps, 20-way adjustable front seats and 14-way adjustable rear seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, 12.3-inch color digital LCD touchscreen for the instrument cluster, 10.2-inch display for the CUE infotainment system, 34-speaker Bose Panaray audio system and rear-seat Blu-ray entertainment system with two independent 10-inch-diagonal screens, wireless earphones and remote controls.
