Cadillac says that the concept highlights the “pure expression of streamlined design and engaging rear-wheel drive performance”. As far as the performance talk goes, the Elmiraj gets a 4.5-liter V8 twin-turbocharged petrol engine that develops 500bhp and 678Nm of torque.

The company also says that the chassis and structural elements used in the Elmiraj are that of an ongoing development vehicle slated for future production. The exterior design is characterized by a long bonnet, 22-inch alloy wheels, a ventilated hood and vertical head and taillights.

The two-door coupe measures 5,207mm in length and can accommodate four people in a 2+2 layout. Trims for the interior and the seats are made from 'hand-picked' Brazilian rosewood and camel leather respectively.

Bob Ferguson, Senior Vice-President for Cadillac globally says that the Elmiraj provides a look inside the Cadillac Studio on how they envision performance and luxury for the next generation models.

Recent rumors suggest that Cadillac would indeed produce the Elmiraj in the future. For now, the American auto maker is focussed on unveiling the next generation Escalade, which is scheduled for October 7.
