Camouflaged Bajaj test mule could be its new commuter - Spied
Could become the new most-affordable cruiser in India.
A Bajaj motorcycle with heavy camouflage has been spied on test by BikeWale. It is expected to belong to the new sub-brand of commuters that Bajaj Auto is reported to introduce next year as a replacement to the Bajaj Discover range of products.
Reports suggested that the company will introduce 135 to 150 cc models under the new commuter banner and that the first motorcycle to be launched will be a 150 cc bike. Judging from the test mule's design, size and appeal, this could be the aforementioned, first 150 cc model to be debuted next year.
Interestingly, the prototype wears the face of the old (third generation) Bajaj Pulsar 150 while the motorcycle adopts the chassis, body, seat and styling as that of a cruiser, Bajaj Avenger for example. As for the old Pulsar's headlamp assembly and bikini fairing, it could be a makeshift arrangement to not reveal the design in progress.
The fact that Bajaj Avenger brand already has a 150 cc variant which is touted as a premium model, suggests that the production version of the spied model should be positioned as an affordable alternative, more on the lines of a model under a brand that is equivalent to the Discover.

The trial vehicle seems to be using a 17-inch alloy wheel with a 240 mm disc brake, a conventional telescopic fork, a regular rear suspension mechanism with a pair of gas-charged coil over shocks on either side of the swingarm, a 16-inch rear wheel and a 130 mm drum brake.
