CFMoto confirms 300NK and 650NK India launch for next month

Chinese two-wheeler brand CFMoto has confirmed via its social network pages that it will commence India operations with the launch of the 300NK and the 650NK in July.

A recent report claimed that CFMoto would commence operations with four new products – 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650 GT – next month and thus we may see more teaser images on CFMoto’s social network pages.

Between the two images revealed by the two-wheeler brand, the company used the text, “Austrian Design” next to the 300NK. Regular readers would know that KTM AG had entered a joint venture with CFMoto in October 2017 intending to expand its market presence the Chinese market. CFMoto holds the majority stake in the joint venture, called CFMoto-KTMR2R, while the Austrian brand gets a 49% share.

To ensure competitive prices, CFMoto will import the motorcycles into our country via the CKD route, while the assembly will take place at AMW Motorcycles’ facility in Hyderabad. Once launched, the CFMoto 300NK will compete with the likes of KTM 250 Duke, Bajaj Dominar 400, BMW G 310 R and the upcoming Gixxer 250. The 650NK, on the other hand, will lock horn with the Kawasaki Z650 and the Benelli 600i.

The company will reportedly commence operations with two dealerships – one in Hyderabad and another in Bengaluru – before it expands operations to Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi.

To give you a quick recap, the CFMoto 300NK shares its design and hardware with the 250NK. The naked roadster packs premium features such as upside-down forks, underbelly exhaust and a digital instrument console. A 292.4 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid cooled, DOHC engine with Balance shaft that will deliver 33.5 hp (25 kW) of power at 7,200 rpm and 20.5 Nm of max torque at 8,800 rpm. The motor will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.

CFMoto will import its products into the Indian market via the CKD route to keep the prices competitive. The bikes will be assembled at AMW Motorcycles’ facility in Hyderabad.

The 650NK, on the other hand, shares its 649.3 cc parallel-twin cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC engine with the 650MT and the 650GT, although the performance numbers are different on all three models. The 650NK draws 61.68 hp (46 kW) of power at 9,000 rpm and 56.0 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.
