Chevrolet Captiva facelift sneaks into India; Starts at 18.74 lakhs
Three variants of Captiva are introduced in India with two engines. The old 2.0L diesel continues its stint in India accompanied by a new 2.2L only for the automatic variant. The detailed pricing is as follows:
- Captiva 2.0 MT – Rs. 18,74,062
- Captiva 2.0 Xtreme – Rs. 19,48,347
- Captiva 2.2 AT AWD – Rs. 24,59,000
*All prices are ex-showroom Delhi
The Captiva facelift was launched internationally almost two years ago. Essentially it is the same car with a new design that is in-line with the latest Chevy design philosophy. The brand new addition is the new 2.2L diesel engine which produces 186.5 bhp @ 3800 rpm and 424 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. This engine is only available on the top-end automatic version which comes with a 6 speed autobox.
If you want to opt for the lower variants, you will get the old 2.0-litre diesel engine with 148 bhp mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
On the inside, the new Captiva gains Jet black interiors and keeps the old 5+2 seating position. Some of the key features on the top variant include:
- Climate control system
- Cruise control
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Electric parking brake
- 8-way power adjustable driver seat
- Remote-operated tailgate glass
- 6 Airbags
- Sunroof
The Captiva’s base variants are price very competitively against competition such as Fortuner, Santa Fe and Endeavour. The top variant with the new engine is massively overpriced.
