Spied - Current Chevrolet Cruze will receive exclusive facelift in China

General Motors had unveiled the second generation Chevrolet Cruze in Beijing, China last Sunday. While the successor, based on an all-new platform, is gearing up to start sales later this year, the current Cruze says its going nowhere. Spyshots of a Cruze facelift have emerged on Chinese auto websites, proving yet again that China is a land where cars never die.

Headlamps, grille, bumper and wheels are different.

Markedly different from the Cruze facelift revealed at the New York Auto Show, the Chinese Cruze gets a regional front-end with honeycomb-mesh grille, straightened headlamps, and a curvier lower bumper with squared foglamps, more to the liking of the Chinese C-Segment customer.

Moving to the rear, the car receives Malibu inspired taillamps with the U-Shaped detailing, reskinned boot lid and a new rear bumper which now encloses the registration plate.

Bootlid, taillamps and bumper revised.

The Cruze facelift gets power from a 1.5-liter petrol engine (in place of the 1.6-liter unit) as per one Chinese news update, producing 80 kW (109 hp). The Cruze facelift would very likely sit in a lower segment when the next gen Cruze goes on sale.
