Chinese-spec Chevrolet Lova MPV leaked - Report

Debuts in November.

Chinese website Autohome has leaked pictures of the Chevrolet Lova MPV for the domestic market well ahead of its debut at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November. The model could be based on the the new Chevrolet Cruze's platform.

The new MPV has a floating roof. 'D2SC,' mentioned in the description, is also the internal name of the Cruze's platform.

The grille and headlamps of the MPV is similar to the design of the new gen Chevrolet Sail.

The new model receives Chevrolet’s signature grille, similar to the new Sail, and the headlights are expected to get Xenon lamps and LED DRLs. The sides get prominent wheel arches, strong character line, muscular-looking haunches and a floating roof. The rear is seen with big tail lamps and a subtle spoiler.

The MPV's high roof and a parallel roofline promises good storage space and head room. Features such as ESP, ABS and dual front airbags are likely to be present and the model could come with Chevrolet’s MyLink 7-inch infotainment system that supports audio, telephony and app stream from a mobile phone.

There is no word on engines that will power the Lova, a likely candidate is the 1.5-liter, naturally-aspirated unit found in the Chinese-spec Cruze sedan generating 112 bhp and 146 Nm of torque. It will likely be mated to a 5-or 6-speed manual gearbox, says AutoHome.

The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine from the Chevrolet Cruze will likely power the new MPV.

The Chinese MPV appears to be up-market and more premium than the Spin.

More details are expected in the coming months.
