The official website has started floating details of the car ahead of the launch on November 2nd. GM India is betting big on the Sail U-VA. The car was extensively tested in India and GM India's engineers worked on preparing a diesel engine specially for our market. Its suspension and interiors were modified to make them suitable for the sub-continent.

The official website shows the front fascia of the car and discusses details about things like the dual tone interiors, luggage space and 60:40 split seats, safety features, engines and Bluetooth connectivity.

The website claims that the Sail U-VA's centralized location of fuel tank enables it to offer a boot capacity of 1,134 litres when the seats are folded down. According to the website, Sail U-VA's 'Safe Cage' body can disperse as much as 80% of the impact due to frontal collision away form the cabin.

The audio system in Sail U-VA can stream music via Bluetooth and the dual cockpit dashboard is inspired by Chevy Corvette. We don't fully see the Corvette connection here, do you?

The USP of Chevrolet Sail U-VA will be its 1.3 litre 78 PS Smartech diesel engine which is nothing but the Fiat Multijet which powers more than dozen other cars in India. The diesel hatchback has an ARAI certified mileage of 22.1 kmpl. Also on offer is a 86 PS 1.2 litre petrol engine but the volume is expected to come from the oil burner.
