Chevrolet to showcase beefed-up Beat concept at SEMA 2012

22/10/2012 - 10:29 New Chevrolet Spark Nithyanandh K

Americans are not really into small cars but the Chevrolet Beat (called as Spark in the US) bucked the trend in 2012.

With youthful styling, compact footprint and mpg figures far higher than most of the cars the Americans have owned, the little Chevy is doing good for itself in the US.

Hence, GM felt the need of having a halo variant in the Beat lineup and they came up with the' Spark Sinister' concept.

Bound to make its public appearance at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show 2012 to be conducted in Las Vegas at the end of this month, the Sinister is exactly what it proclaims.

The monstrously bulging wheel arches declare the Spark Sinister concept's nasty intentions. The side skirts and the rear bumper posses aerodynamic blades and the rear spoiler is massive. The humongous 18" Bahia red alloy wheels along with the low profile rubber look the part.

The dramatic rear diffuser houses twin exhausts in the middle while the tail lamps get a sporty treatment. The Chevrolet bow tie decal throughout the body is an interesting touch. The Spark Sinister concept sits lower than the regular Spark.

There is no news yet on whether the motor also gets some extra dosage of steroids. GM also will showcase three other Spark concepts called the Spark Z-Spec concept which comes with extra accessories and body kits, 'The Color Run' Spark concept which will be the pace car for a social event by the same name and the 'Pink Out' Spark which will spread cancer awareness.
