Indonesia - Rugged-looking Chevrolet Spin Activ MPV launched at Rs 10.72 lakh
The Chevrolet Spin Activ MPV has been launched in Indonesia marking one year of the Spin's presence in Indonesia.
Chevy has made several changes to the Activ model. The car gets black body paneling and reflectors on the rear bumper, which sees 'Activ' embossed on it. Smoked headlamps and alloy wheels are also part of the package. Inside, the dashboard is black, is fitted with a passenger airbag and the steering gets audio controls.
While Chevrolet offers the Spin MPV with 3 engine options, the Activ is only available in the top-end 1.5-liter A/T configuration. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder inline petrol engine makes 109 hp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 142 Nm at 3,800 rpm.
While all Spin models come with a five-speed manual transmission, the Activ LTZ is driven via a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The MPV gets a McPherson strut setup at the front and torsion beam suspension at the rear. The front-wheel driven car measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height without roof rails and 1,683 mm with roof rails. It gets a ground clearance of 157 mm and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
The Chevrolet Spin Activ is priced at 203.2 million Indonesian rupiah (INR 10.72 lakhs).
A similar soft-road version with a spare wheel mounted to the rear is also rumoured to launch in Brazil.
