The Chevrolet Tracker (called as Chevrolet Trax elsewhere) is all set to be launched in Brazil. The launch in Brazil was expected as spyshots of test mules snapped on Brazilian roads have been around for about a year now.

The Chevy Tracker will be packed with features and will go head on with the Ford EcoSport and the Renault Duster. Currently, the EcoSport is enjoying a highly successful run with Brazilian customers and the Tracker will be looking to spoil its party.

General Motors of Brazil has kicked off marketing initiatives for the car by sending emails to its existing customers. The email teases the car and informs that it will make its premiere on July 14th through Redo Globo television channel.

The Brazil spec Tracker is expected to be powered by a pair of Flex fuel motors - 120hp 1.6 litre and a 140hp 1.8 litre. The former is borrowed from the Sonic while the latter comes from the Cruze. Transmission options would be a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Four wheel drive is not likely to be offered, at least not initially.

The Chevrolet Trax is renamed as Tracker for Brazilian market.

The Tracker for Brazil will be imported from Mexico in LT and LTZ variants. The dense equipment in the LTZ includes six airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, MyLink touchscreen multimedia infotainment system and 17" wheels.

The Chevrolet Tracker is expected have a price range of 60,000 Reals (around Rs. 15.91 lakh rupees) to 75,000 Reals (around Rs. 19.89 lakh rupees).
