Citroen is showcasing the Citroen C3-XR at Auto China 2016 (2016 Beijing Motor Show). The C3-XR was first presented as the Citroen C-XR Concept at the Beijing Motor Show in 2014 and launched as a China-only product in December the same year. The C3-XR, sold by the Dongfeng-Citroen joint venture, is built in Wuhan, and is the Franco-Chinese venture's first crossover/SUV model.

The Citroen C3-XR measures 4,262 mm in length, 1,748 mm in width and 1,557 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,655 mm. It's said to be based on a stretched version of the platform that underpins the Peugeot 2008. It's available with two engine options: a 1.6-litre CVVT four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 86 kW (115 hp) and 150 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre THP four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 123 kW (165 hp) and 245 Nm of torque.

Power is sent to the wheels via a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission in case of the 1.6-litre CVVT engine, and via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission in case of the 1.6-litre THP engine.

The Citroen C3-XR is available in three grades for both engine options, with prices ranging from 1,08,800 yuan to 1,37,800 yuan (INR 11,15,434 to INR 14,12,746) for the 1.6L CVVT engine model and from 1,53,800 yuan to 1,71,800 yuan (INR 15,76,780 to INR 17,61,320) for the 1.6L THP model.
