Classic Legends, a subsidiary of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group, has started the deliveries of the dual-channel ABS variants of the Jawa motorcycles. Jawa Motorcycles Nagpur shared the images of the delivery of dual-channel ABS variant via its Facebook page. Deliveries of the single-channel variants of the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two have been underway since March 2019.

A dual-channel ABS variant was delivered to a customer in Nagpur on July 1. Jawa Motorcycles' Nagpur outlet shared the photograph of the delivery via its Facebook page.

Regular readers would know that Anupam Thareja, Co-Founder, Classic Legends, had confirmed that the deliveries of dual-channel ABS equipped Jawa bikes would start from the end of June. To give you a quick recap, the dual-channel variants of Jawa Classic and Forty-Two carry a premium of approximately INR 8,000 over the single-channel models.

Apart from the addition of a disc brake at the back and a dual-channel ABS unit, the new variants continue to feature same styling and mechanical specifications as the single-channel ABS models. Both variants employ a six-speed gearbox and use a single-cylinder, 293 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that churns out 27.37 PS of peak power and 28 Nm of maximum torque. The ARAI certified fuel economy for the motorcycles stands at 37.5 km/l. The single-channel ABS variant uses a drum brake at the back while the dual-channel ABS model comes with a rear disc. The disc brake on the rear wheel and dual-channel ABS were added to the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two to match the specification sheet of its direct rival, the Royal Enfield Classic range. Similarly, Classic Legends also announced the availability of optional accessories and merchandise for the Jawa motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the commencement of bookings for the Perak bobber is coming closer and we should hear an official announcement in the coming days. In an interview to IAB earlier this year, Thareja confirmed that the bookings for the Perak would commence after September 2019.

The company ensured a widespread dealership and service network for the motorcycles before commencing the deliveries. Classic Legends inaugurated its 100th dealership in the country in April this year.
