Speaking to the website, Ashish Joshi, CEO, Classic Legends, said:
We want to create a decent-sized product portfolio. Three more Jawa bikes with different technology and engine configuration will be introduced in the next 18 months. We will be announcing more details on the product plan on our first anniversary on November 15, 2019.
While Joshi did not reveal the finer details about the upcoming motorcycles, one of them is most definitely the Perak Bobber that was unveiled in November last year. The bookings for the Perak Bobber were supposed to start in September, although the company is yet to make any announcements about the product. Regular followers would know that the Jawa Perak bobber, which was showcased in November last year, featured a 334 cc DOHC, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected motor that made 30 hp of peak power and 31 Nm of max torque. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission.
The details about the other two products are scarce, although we could see a dual-purpose motorcycle and a café-racer from the Mahindra Group subsidiary.
In other updates, Joshi also confirmed that the company has ramped up the production to bring down the waiting period. Joshi added that the waiting period has come down to 6-7 months as against from 9-10 months previously. Classic Legends have also expanded its dealership network to 105 (against 100 previously) in 87 cities. Joshi also added that the firm was BS-VI ready.
Classic Legend’s current portfolio comprises two products – the Jawa Classic and the Jawa Forty-Two – both of which are available in dual-channel and single-channel ABS forms. The ex-showroom Delhi prices for the motorcycles are listed below:
- Jawa Classic (Single-channel ABS): INR 1,64,000
- Jawa Forty-Two (Single-channel ABS): INR 1,55,000
- Jawa Classic (Dual-channel ABS): INR 1,72,942
- Jawa Forty-Two (Dual-channel ABS): INR 1,63,942
