Indonesia - Datsun Go+ to be launched in July for under Rs 5.4 lakh
The Datsun Go+ MPV will be launched in Indonesia in July this year and it will retain a price of being under 100 million Rupiah, despite recent currency fluctuations.
A report on Indonesian website Iotomotif states that the currency fluctuation has affected imported cars and locally produced cars. The impact is so vast that even cars with upto 80 percent of local content have raised their prices.
The website also reports that the company has confirmed the price will stay below the 100 million Rupiah (Rs 5.4 lakh) mark.
The Go+ was first debuted in Indonesia at the Indonesian International Motor Show last September. Following that debut, the company confirmed that even India would get the MPV and was duly unveiled at last month's Auto Expo in Greater Noida.
The MPV will be launched in Indonesia in July. It is built on the same platform as the Nissan Micra and comes with the same 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine, making 68 hp and 104 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The seven-seater measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,635 mm in width and 1,485 mm in height, getting a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.
