Indonesia Live - Datsun Go+ (India-bound)
The seven-seat Go+ will be India's first sub-4m MPV.
In May this year, Datsun had launched their first product, the Go+ MPV, that introduced the revived brand to the Indonesian market. Now, Datsun is showcasing the MPV at the Indonesian International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS 2014) for the public to have a closer look.
Based on the Go hatchback, which is effectively based on the Nissan Micra's V-Platform, the Datsun Go+ offers the practicality and space of an MPV with a price tag that's not hard-hitting. It measures at 3,995 mm of length, 1,635 mm of width, 1,485 mm of height and a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.
Under the hood is a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 68 bhp and 104 Nm of torque. It's coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox that will transfer power to the front wheels.
Customers can choose their Go+ from four different variants: D, A, T and T-Option. Prices range from 85 million Rupiah to 102.9 million Rupiah (INR 4.33 Lakhs to 5.49 Lakhs). The car is manufactured at Nissan's Purwakarta plant in Indonesia and the brand aims to constitute 50 percent of Nissan sales in the country in 2016.
The Go+ was presented at the 2014 Auto Expo in January and was announced to launch in India late in the year. If that deadline is not met, expect the car in showrooms sometime early next year. The company also displayed an accessorized version of the Go+ with a body kit and alloy wheels at IIMS.
