Datsun redi-GO - Concept vs Reality

Minimal changes from the concept's design.

Following the world premiere of the Datsun redi-GO, here's a brief pictorial comparison of the production-spec model with its concept version from the Auto Expo 2014.

The exterior styling draws heavy cues from the redi-GO concept car, which is influenced by the YUKAN design language. Compared to its precursor, the redi-GO features a more conventional C-pillar design and small steel wheels with plastic caps.

It features the familiar hexagonal grille, sleek headlamps, separate LED DRLs on the bumper, 185 mm ground clearance, while the rear-end features vertical taillamps, contoured tailgate and separate reflectors on the lower bumper.

The redi-GO packs a 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company promises best-in-class fuel mileage for a compact petrol hatchback. Power and torque outputs are yet to be revealed.
