IAB Rendering - Datsun Redi-Go production version

Datsun marked its entry in India last month with the Go hatchback. The one product strong portfolio will soon be bolstered with the arrival of the Go+ sub-4 meter MPV (launching in India by the end of this year), and the entry-level Redi-Go (next year), which made its world premiere in concept form at the Auto Expo in February.

Seen here is a look at what the production version of the Datsun Redi-Go would look like, thanks to our render artist, Shoeb. While the Redi-Go will be priced below the Go, it does not seem to look plain-jane and boring like the Alto 800 for example. Instead, designers presented a concept with stylized headlights and taillights, a muscular stance with the right body creases combined with a tall-boy design.

The Redi-Go will be based on Renault-Nissan's new CMF-A platform, unlike the Go and Go+ which are based on the Nissan V-Platform. The small car is expected to get a sub-1-liter petrol engine promising better performance and fuel efficiency compared to the Alto 800. We wouldn't be surprised if Datsun equips the Redi-Go with an AMT (automated manual transmission).

We will get our first look at the new platform, and the new engine, when Renault launches their all-new small car next year (in case the Datsun is not ready by then). The Renault and the Datsun will share all components except for their exterior design and certain cabin parts.
