Royal Enfield Classic 500 Desert Storm 'stickered' into a Pegasus edition [Video]

All the 250 units of the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus reserved for the Indian market were sold in merely 178 seconds during the 'flash sale' organised by the two-wheeler brand. The production of the Pegasus edition was limited to just 1,000 units across the world.

If you were not able to buy one, here is a cheaper alternative. Folks at Vwraps Sikar have transformed a stock Royal Enfield Classic 500 Desert Storm into the Pegasus edition. Vwraps Sikar removed all the stock stickers and the fuel tank pads on the Classic 500 Desert Storm and replaced them with Pegasus inspired stickers and the stencilled number.

The transformation is not a very long process. However, as seen in the video, the fuel tank mounted rubber pads are quite challenging to remove.

Meanwhile, Argentina received 30 units of the motorcycle. The Argentinian spec Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus, unlike the Indian model, features a dual-channel ABS.

Inspired by the Royal Enfield RE/WD 125 ‘Flying Flea’ used during World War 2, the Pegasus edition comes in two colour options – Olive Drab Green and Service Brown – and a unique Pegasus emblem. The motorcycle also received individually stencilled serial number, resembling the 250th Airborne Light Company. Apart from the unique sticker set and colour options, the Pegasus edition gets black rims, headlight bezel, pedals, leather strap with brass buckles across the air filter, brown handlebar grips, and military-inspired canvas panniers featuring a Pegasus logo.

Mechanical specifications are identical to the standard Royal Enfield Classic 500. Thus, the Pegasus Edition uses a 499cc single cylinder, air-cooled, fuel injected engine that delivers 27.2 hp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus edition uses all the stock hardware of the standard Classic 500. The only difference is the custom sticker set on the Pegasus edition.

The hardware list is identical to the standard Classic 500 and thus, stopping power is provided with a 280 mm disc with two-piston calliper at the front and 240 mm disc with single-piston caliper at the rear. However, ABS is not available, even as standard. Suspension duties are performed by a conventional telescopic suspension at the front, while at the rear are twin gas-charged shock absorbers.
