Last year, Dodge introduced the all-new Dodge Neon, a rebadged Fiat Tipo sedan. Now, according to a report from Auto Esporte, the company is planning to sell its own version of the Fiat Cronos.

The Fiat Cronos is a new small sedan that was unveiled towards the end of last month. Its Dodge-branded version could feature the signature cross-hair upper grille with the brand’s logo in the bottom-left corner. It may not have any more differences other than that and some more swaps of the brands’ badges elsewhere.

The Fiat Cronos is underpinned by the new MP-S (Modular Platform Sedan) platform. Fiat has developed the new platform exclusively for this model. It will sell the Cronos with 1.3-litre FireFly and 1.8-litre E.TorQ Evo engines. Dodge will offer its version exclusively with the 1.8-litre E.TorQ Evo engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission, as per the report.

The Fiat Cronos’ production at the Cordoba plant in Argentina will commence this month. Its market launch (in Brazil) will take place in Q1 2018. Its Dodge-badged version could go on sale by 2019. It’s unknown which markets will receive this cross-badged model. Like the Neon, Dodge could offer it in Mexico and the Middle East.
