Do note that a Jawa dealership from Nagpur had shared a photograph on its Facebook handle with the quote, "Ride safe with all-new Jawa 42 Dual ABS," which had led us to believe that the deliveries had started last month.
The deliveries of the single-channel variants of the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two had started in March 2019. Previously, Anupam Thareja, Co-Founder, Classic Legends, had confirmed through a reply to a tweet that the deliveries of dual-channel ABS-equipped Jawa bikes would start from the end of June. The dual-channel ABS Jawa Classic and Forty-Two carry a premium of approximately INR 8,000 over the single-channel ABS variants. Check out the ex-showroom Delhi prices below:
Model | Price (Single-Channel ABS) | Price (Dual-Channel ABS) |
Jawa Classic | INR 1,64,000 | INR 1,72,942 |
Jawa Forty-Two | INR 1,55,000 | INR 1,63,942 |
The changes are limited to the addition of a rear disc brake and a dual-channel ABS. The dual-channel ABS versions employ a six-speed gearbox and draw power from a 293 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. The motor is tuned to return 27.37 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque. The ARAI-certified fuel economy rating stands at 37.5 km/l.
The addition of a disc brake on the rear wheel and a dual-channel ABS aims to match the specification sheet of its rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350. In a bid to boost sales further, Classic Legends also announced optional accessories and merchandise for the Jawa motorcycles.
As per a report from last month, the Jawa Classic and the Forty-Two carry a waiting period in the range of 7 to 10 months. Classic Legends ensured a proper dealership and service network reach throughout the country before commencing the deliveries of the motorcycles. The 100th outlet of the brand was inaugurated in April 2019.
The next motorcycle to reach the dealerships will be the Perak Bobber. The bike was unveiled alongside the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two in November last year. Thareja told IAB earlier this year that the bookings for the Perak Bobber would start after September 2019. Its price was announced in November but could be changed at launch.

To give you a recap, the Perak Bobber is powered by a 334 cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 4-valve engine that delivers 30.41 PS of power and 31 Nm of torque. The Perak Bobber would come in a single variant - dual-channel ABS.
