Ducati reveals timeline for Euro 4 versions of discontinued motorcycles

India moved from BSIII to BSIV emission norms on April 1, 2017.

Update: Ducati India has officially revealed the timeline for Euro 4 versions of the discontinued motorcycles. Bookings for the Ducati Scrambler Icon and Ducati Scrambler Classic have commenced and deliveries will begin in July 2017. Euro 4 Ducati Diavel Diesel and Ducati Diavel will arrive in the months of August and October respectively. The Euro 4 compliant Ducati Monster 821 will reach Indian dealerships in October 2017. There has been no word about the Ducati 1299 Panigale or the Panigale R.

Ducati India has temporarily discontinued 5 motorcycles in the country as they have not been updated to meet the BSIV norms. Deleted are the Ducati Diavel, Ducati Monster 821, Ducati 1299 Panigale (and 1299 Panigale S), Ducati Panigale R and Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro.

The Ducati Monster 821, along with Ducati 1299 Panigale (and 1299 Panigale S), Ducati Panigale R and Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro, has been temporarily discontinued in India.

Ducati retails these motorcycles in Euro 4 compliant versions in Europe. Interestingly, the Ducati Diavel Diesel, based on the standard Diavel, continues to be on sale in India. The company is expected to reinstate the motorcycles later this year with updated powertrains.

In February 2017, Ducati India revealed that it would launch 5 new products this year. Keeping with the announcement, the Ducati Monster 797 and Ducati Multistrada 950 launched in India on June 14. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, Ducati Scrambler Café Racer, and Ducati SuperSport will be launched later this year.

The Ducati Monster 797 is the smallest model in the Monster line and uses the same air-cooled powerplant seen in the Scrambler. The Multistrada 950 is a toned-down version of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro with the engine tracing its origins to the Hypermotard 939.

Ducati India is expected to reintroduce the models in India later this year.

The newly launched Ducati Monster 797 and Ducati Multistrada 950 are priced at INR 7.77 lakhs (pre-GST) and INR 12.60 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
