Ducati Scrambler bookings open at INR 2 lakhs, launch next month - IAB Report
Ducati has three dealerships in India at the moment.
Dealers of Ducati India Private Limited, the newly-established subsidiary of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer, have started accepting bookings for the Scrambler for INR 2 lakhs. The market launch of the Scrambler will take place in the month of May in India sources said.
The Scrambler will be priced in the region of INR 6.5-7.5 lakhs, ex-Showroom, putting it in the same price category as the Triumph Bonneville. Currently, the Scrambler would retail from three Ducati dealerships in the country (Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon).
The Scrambler is manufactured at Ducati's Thailand plant for global export markets, and the Indian models will be shipped from this plant, a person in the know told Indian Autos Blog.
Power for the Scrambler comes from a L-twin engine displacing 803 cc. This motor is good for 75 PS and 67.7 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed transmission. A 330 mm disc up front and a 245 mm disc at the rear with two-channel ABS provide stopping power. Pirelli tires are offered as standard fitment.

Based on a twin-spar steel trellis structure, the Scrambler is equipped with Kayaba inverted telescopic forks up front and an offset monoshock for the rear, with a dry kerb weight of 170 kg. A floating seat, an eccentric instrument dial, a classic circular headlight with an LED outline and a single-sided rear mudguard are some of the motorcycle's features.
