Early Maruti S-Cross buyers given compensation and free insurance - Report

Prices were reduced in January.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited is reported to be offering compensation to customers who purchased the Maruti S-Cross before its prices were slashed.

Maruti Suzuki reduced the prices of the S-Cross by upto INR 2.05 lakhs in January.

The Maruti S-Cross was launched in August 2015 as the debut model at NEXA outlets. Owing to the less than anticipated sales, the S-Cross was given hefty discounts a few weeks after the launch. In January the company slashed prices of the crossover by INR 2.05 lakhs for all three versions of the 1.6-litre S-Cross DDiS 320 and by INR 40,000 to INR 66,000 for the 1.3-litre S-Cross DDiS 200.

Now it is reported that the company is returning a part of the difference amount to customers who paid the higher price. Maruti Suzuki is also reported to be offering them extended warranty for free and a premium MCP (maintenance cost protect) package.

A customer has received a cheque of INR 90,000 and a 2 year/20,000 km premium MCP (maintenance cost protect) package from MSIL as a compensation for the S-Cross he purchased before the price revision.
