Euro-spec 2018 Subaru XV at the IAA 2017 - Live

Although the all new 2018 Subaru XV made its world premiere at the last Geneva Motor Show, it is only expected to arrive in showrooms across Europe and U.K early next year. In the latter market, prices are expected to start from around GBP 22,000.

It's one of the first cars in Subaru's range to ride on the Subaru Global Platform, claiming to be significantly more rigid and spacious than the outgoing model. The new XV measures 4,465 x 1,800 x 1,615 mm, has a wheelbase of 2,665 mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm. Exterior styling is based on Subaru’s DYNAMIC x SOLID design philosophy, featuring the Subaru hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights. For a tougher look, it has matte black cladding across wheel arches, bumper and side sill, roof rails, relatively chunkier tires.

Similar to the what we saw in the new Impreza, the XV has a refined interior design with lesser buttons and more premium touches. Housed centrally is an 8-inch STARLINK touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and DAB radio. Subaru’s safety oriented EyeSight package is fitted as standard, which includes pre-collision braking and throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.

Engine options will include a 1.6L 4-cyl boxer engine that develops 112 bhp and 150 Nm of peak torque, and a more powerful 2.0L boxer unit producing 154 bhp and 196 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a Lineartronic CVT and symmetric AWD system is standard across the range.
