Evoke Urban S electric bike to be built by iPhone manufacturer Foxconn

Evoke Motorcycle Urban S can be booked for the US market by making a payment of USD 200.

Chinese startup Evoke Motorcycles have contracted Taiwanese multinational electronics company Foxconn, which is known around the world as the Apple iPhone manufacturer, to manufacture its electric bike.

The Evoke Urban S will be built by the Taiwanese contract cellphone maker Foxconn and sold in China and USA.

The Evoke Urban S is claimed to be an electric motorcycle truly designed for a new rider. Powering the bike is a 9kWh Samsung lithium-ion phosphate battery pack linked to a 19 kW motor (25.83 PS). The torque output is a massive 116 Nm. It can hit 50 km/h from standstill in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 130 km/h.

The range of the Evoke Urban S is 200 km while highway runs at a speed of 80 km/h give a range of 120 km. The battery takes 8 hours to charge via a standard charger while a fast charger can do it in 4 hours. The Evoke Urban S is suspended over 42 mm inverted forks up front and a monoshock in the rear.

Brakes include two 300 mm discs in the front with a four-piston calliper and a single 220 mm disc in the rear with a two-piston calliper. The Evoke Urban S tips the scales at 180 kg, has a ground clearance of 130 mm and a seat height of 780 mm.

The Evoke Urban S has a 19 kW motor which has a claimed city range of 200 km.

Unlike most electric motorcycle makers like Zero and Energica, the Evoke Urban S has been priced at USD 9,400. Pre-orders for the US market can be made by making a payment of USD 200.
