Exclusive: BS-IV Suzuki Intruder 155 available at discount at select dealerships

The BS-IV Suzuki Intruder 155 has been discontinued, and select dealerships are offering the remaining stock at a discount of INR 3,000. A BS-VI compliant Suzuki Intruder 155 is in the works and will likely be launched by early next year.

The upcoming Suzuki Intruder range will benefit from LED headlight and an updated instrument console that will be identical to the unit on the Gixxer bikes.

The 155 cc cruiser will be joined by a quarter-litre variant in 2020. The Intruder 155 and the Intruder 250 will share their engine specifications with the Gixxer 155 and the Gixxer 250 respectively. The naked roadster has already received a major styling upgrade, although it continues to feature a BS-IV compliant engine.

While the details are scarce right now, we expect the upcoming Intruder 155 and the Intruder 250 to feature full LED headlight and an updated instrument console that will be the same unit from as that of the Gixxer bikes. The BS-IV Intruder 155 received a mixed response for its styling. Similar to the latest Gixxer series, we expect the upcoming Intruder range to feature updated design to attract more buyers.

The numbers on the BS-VI motors are not likely to be very different from their respective BS-IV versions. The 249 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine of the Gixxer 250 range (Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF), in BS-IV guise, pumps out 26.5 PS of max power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.

The BS-IV compliant 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, 2-valve fuel-injected motor of the Gixxer 155 duo (Gixxer 155 and the Gixxer 155 SF) produces 14.1 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of max torque at 6,000 rpm. The 250 cc motor employs a six-speed gearbox, while the 155 cc variant uses a five-speed transmission.

Suzuki will use the budget-friendly hardware in the upcoming cruiser range to introduce the motorcycles at competitive prices. Thus, shock absorption tasks will be handled by conventional telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Anchoring duties will be performed by disc brake on both ends. Like the Gixxer series, the Intruder 155 will feature a single-channel ABS, while the Intruder 250 will use a dual-channel ABS.

The BS-IV compliant Suzuki Intruder 155 (pictured) is available until stock lasts. Select dealerships are offering an INR 3,000 discount on the motorcycle.
