Facelifted Ford EcoSport to be made in Brazil from May 2017 - Report

The facelifted Ford EcoSport that was unveiled in November last year is set to go on sale later this year in South America as the MY2018 model. According to a report from Autoblog Argentina, at an event held in Argentina recently, Ford executives confirmed that the 2018 Ford EcoSport would enter production in Brazil in May 2017 and launch in Argentina shortly after.

Ford has a lot of changes to the EcoSport with the mid-cycle update. On the outside, it features faux skid plates, resculpted hood and new design headlamps, grille, fog lamps and bumper. The interior gets a big upgrade with new design instrument panel, steering wheel and centre console, new switchgear, grab rail on the dashboard with body colour accents.

With the facelift, the Ford EcoSport has gained the Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch floating touch display. The new infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility. The U.S.-spec version is equipped with a 675-watt, 10-speaker B&O PLAY audio system.

In India, Ford recently introduced the Platinum Edition of the pre-facelift Ford EcoSport. With the U.S.-spec version to be made in India, its production and domestic sales will commence later this year.
