Facelifted Laura pictures hit internet

Skoda has revealed a facelifted version the Laura. The car in question is actually called the Octavia in every part of the world, except India where the previous generation Octavia is sold alongside and hence this one is re-badged as the Laura. The Laura needs no introduction in India, it took off from where the earlier Octavia left off. It was a runaway success and is a favourite among the executives as it comes with the tried and tested 1.9 PD engine, which none of its competitors had on offer (until the Sonata which bombed and the Jetta which has been launched now). Skoda has given it a md-life facelift to keep it fresh.

The first official images of the facelifted Octavia made an unexpected appearance on the web today ahead of the mid-size model’s world premier at the Paris Motor Show later this week. Notice the grille, headlights, bumpers which look similar to the Fabia and the new Superb? This of course is the face of all Skoda models. The revised Octavia liftback and station-wagon models also feature door mirrors with integrated turn indicators and new alloy wheel designs which look cool.

On the inside, materials are of higher quality, while radio, air-conditioning and the four-spoke steering wheels blend with the beige interiors.

Despite the fact that we’re still waiting for the official press release, Carscoop sources report that the new Octavia will be available with five petrol and three diesel engines, including for the first time, VW Group’s turbocharged 1.4-liter TSI gasoline engine with 122 HP.
