The FB Mondial HPS 125 won’t be making to the Indian shores, MotoRoyale has confirmed to IAB. The development was confirmed by Ajinkya Firodia, MD, MotoRoyale, at yesterday’s event where the company launched 7 new bikes and 3 new brands.

The 'Hipster' design of the FB Mondial HPS 125 is a fusion of a cafe racer and a scrambler.

Replying to IAB’s query on the possibility of the launch of FB Mondial HPS 125 in India, Mr Ajinkya Firodia said:

“No. They have the HPS 125. For two years, they have been pushing me to launch the FB Mondial 125 but I’m very clear that I don’t want to do 125 cc. I want to do superbikes. The HPS 300 is a 250 cc, produces 24 bhp but it’s so beautiful and exactly the same looking. In fact, Mr Galli, who is the owner of FB Mondial, designed the HPS 300 especially for India, because we refused to bring the 125 to India. The HPS 125 would still cost around INR 3 lakh and it would not make any sense to launch it in India.”

The FB Mondial HPS 125 is very similar to the HPS 300, with the only difference being the engine specifications. The HPS 125 was spied testing in India in August 2017. HPS stands for ‘hipster,’ and the design language is unique in its own right. The company claims the bike is neither a café racer, nor a scrambler, but a fusion of both.

Powering the FB Mondial HPS 125 is a 125 cc single-cylinder, DOHC motor with fuel injection. The liquid-cooled engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 13.59 PS at 9,750 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. A 6-speed transmission transfers drive to the wheel through a final chain drive.

The FB Mondial HPS 125 uses a smaller 125 cc engine that is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The FB Mondial HPS 125 features the same suspension setup as on the HPS 300. The front is a 41 mm upside-down unit, while twin gas-charged shock absorbers do duty at the rear. Anchorage comes from petal disc brakes at both the ends with floating radial callipers. ABS is offered as standard. The bike has a dry weight of 135 kg.
