FCA India to introduce Mopar brand in 10 cities - Report
FCA India is readying for the 2017 Jeep Compass' launch.
To support the newly (locally) launched Jeep brand in India, FCA India will bring Mopar to the country. According to a report from Nikkei, the company will introduce the Mopar brand in 10 cities initially.
The development was revealed to the Japanese publication by Kevin Flynn, President and MD, FCA India, who revealed that the company would launch the Mopar brand in India later this year in a move to revamp its sales and service network. Mopar exists for transforming FCA ownership experience and offers service, parts and customer care for FCA vehicles. Previous reports have said that Mopar's initial existence will revolve completely around servicing Jeep vehicles in the country, but later FCA India will explore more horizons with the brand's performance parts.
The 2017 Jeep Compass measures 4,410 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. FCA India will manufacture it in 50 different trim, powertrain, transmission and colour combinations. It will offer the Indian-spec version with the 1.4-litre FIRE MultiAir2 petrol and 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engines. Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Diesel model buyers will get an option for the Jeep Active Drive four-wheel drive system.
