Geneva Live - Ferrari California T

Ferrari unveiled its latest supercar, the Ferrari California T, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

The successor to the California features an all-new direct injection 3.9-liter V8 that develops 560 hp and 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 755 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds. The engine is mounted low on the chassis in a mid-front position.

Ferrari claims that its engineers have given special attention to the flat-plane crankshaft, three piece exhaust manifold and turbo housing.

The car, much like the California, gets a retractable hard top that transforms the coupe into a spider in 14 seconds.

The California T gets a new steering box and suspension setup where new springs, coupled with the latest generation of Ferrari's Magnaride dampers, which Ferrari says responds 50 percent faster. The car also has the latest evolution of the F1-trac traction control system and CCM3 carbon-ceramic brakes that promise a 100-0 kph stopping distance of 34 metres.

The car has been designed by Ferrari's inhouse team in association with its long-standing design house consultant Pininfarina. On the inside, the car features a new infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen along with conventional controls.
