Expected to be India's most powerful non-luxury hatchback.

Fiat India is testing the performance-oriented Abarth Punto Evo in Himachal Pradesh, and these spyshots from My Fiat World member, 'RedBeluga', give a quick look at what to expect from the hot-hatch.

The Abarth Punto Evo will be manufactured in India, though certain components may be imported.

The exterior sees subtle cosmetic changes such as larger 'Scorpion' alloy wheels, contrasting wing mirror covers, side body decals, a 'T-Jet' badge on the bootlid, a new exhaust system and finally the Fiat badges will be replaced with Abarth logos (covered in these pictures).

Inside, the Abarth Punto Evo looks similar to the regular Punto Evo, save for mild differences. Like the outside, the Fiat badges inside will likely be replaced with the 'Abarth scorpion', and the seats are expected with contrast stitching. The test mule also sports aluminium pedals, another feature that would set the Abarth apart from the regular Punto.

The Abarth Punto Evo's 1.4-liter T-Jet engine is expected to develop 135 bhp.

The highlight of the Abarth Punto Evo will be its 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged T-Jet petrol engine, borrowed from the Linea T-Jet. Where the Linea T-Jet makes 113 bhp, the Abarth Punto is reported to produce 135 bhp, making it the most powerful non-luxury hatchback in the country.
